The library strives to help students develop a love of reading and learning, teach 21st century technology and information literacy skills, and enrich and support grade-level curriculum. We use the American Association of School Librarians' Standards for the 21st-Century and Common Core Standards as a guideline, so that students can learn the following:
- Read, view, and listen for pleasure and growth. Read widely and fluently to make connections with self, the world, and previous reading.
- Participate in the social exchange of ideas.
- Find, evaluate, and select appropriate sources to answer questions.
- Organize knowledge so that it is useful.
- Seek information for personal learning in a variety of formats and genres.
- Develop and refine a range of questions to frame the search for new understanding.
